In a library, books can be decorative in themselves. However, when tucked away on a shelf, their inviting covers and titles don’t always catch the eye.
Silkeborg Library has addressed this. A large, striking orange wall is now adorned with books arranged by various themes. Positioned right next to one of the library’s reading areas, the wall invites exploration.
FOCUS ON YOUTH AND STUDENTS
With the new interior design, Silkeborg Library has created several areas that encourage both individual concentration and teamwork. The open and inviting environment makes it easier for students and other visitors to find an inspiring corner where they can immerse themselves in their work. With books as an integral part of the decor, the study environment has become a blend of learning, tranquility, and creativity.
CUSTOM-MADE TO THEIR SPECIFICATIONS
The striking wall is not just an aesthetic addition but also a source of inspiration, with new titles and themes constantly rotating to spark the curiosity of the library's visitors.
The Extend Wall Mounted shelving system has been designed specifically to meet the unique needs of Silkeborg Library, with the library actively involved in the design process from start to finish. The integrated design includes a screen displaying dynamic content that naturally draws attention and creates vibrancy around the wall. The custom-made boards provide space to highlight selected titles or relevant text, supporting the books in focus.
